Hasegawa is one of the rare Japanese prospects who fight at a heavier weight class. He is undefeated in his 13 professional fights since he made his debut in 2010. Hasegawa has a strong Judo background which he started in high school, and has been selected for all Japan team in college. He became the DEEP Megaton tournament champion by defeating Peter Tornow, and Seigo Mizuguchi. Since then Hasegawa has evolved as fighter and beat many recognizable opponents such as Kazuhiro Nakamura, Matt Thompson and Ryuta Sakurai. He has the potential of becoming the savior of the dying Japanese heavy weight division.
