Le Banner is a hard hitter who has several nicknames such as “K-1’s gatekeeper”, ”Hyper battle cyborg”, “The uncrowned King”, and is still popular amongst many fans. He has fought several legendary battles and was one of the key fighters who sustained K-1’s popularity during its prime. Le Banner made is Japanese debut in 1995 during K-1 GRAND-PRIX 95’, he defeated the names of Masaaki Satake, Mike Bernardo and placed second in the tournament. He continued to fight in K-1 and fought the best of the best throughout his career. In 2004 is challenged himself in competing in MMA, and has continued to evolve as a mixed martial artist. Le Banner announced his retirement from kickboxing this year, and has mentioned that he has been wanting to retire in Japan, the country he loves very much. This fight will be the fight he has wanted, and will he be able to finish his career in a way that everybody won’t forget.
