With his opponent confirmed as Jerome Le Banner, Kaido Hoovelson had an open workout to show his skills

   

Kaido Hoovelson had an open workout at Takada Dojo after his opponent was identified as Jerome Le Banner.

On this day, RIZIN FF General Manager Nobuhiko Takada appeared on a popular live television show aired on Fuji TV, and revealed Kaido Hoovelson’s opponent as K-1 veteran Jerome Le Banner.

After the announcement, RIZIN FF Chairman Nobuyuki Sakakibara held a press conference at Takada Dojo with Kaido Hoovelson and his coach Akira Shoji and was followed by an open workout session.

During the conference, Sakakibara announced that the rules will be set for RIZIN MMA rules, Three 3 minute rounds with an extra round if necessary. He also stated that all super heavy weight MMA fights will be under these rules.

Hoovelson worked on jump ropes, burpees and hitting the pads to show his unusual athletic ability for a ma his size. He also demonstrated his ground game which he developed from his Judo days.

Akira Shoji mentioned that he dissolves new techniques like a sponge like he mastered the head and arm choke very quickly.

He has been working on a move named the “Barutotrain” where he rushes his opponent into the corner like a freight train, “Bartocrane” where he lifts his opponent up high and slams him to the mat, and lastly heavy ground and pound which he named the “Baruto hammer”. All media personal could not help gasp when they witnessed his dynamic moves.

After the workout, answered a few questions and talked about how great his condition is. He will head to Toyama to finish up his training camp.
