Goran Reljic from KSW will be facing Vadim Nemkov in the opening round of RIZIN WORLD GP. During the interview Reljic mentioned “I am honored to be able to compete in the land where martial arts was born”.
—What are your thoughts about fighting in RIZIN representing KSW
It is an absolute honor and I am fortunate for this opportunity. I just want to fight.
—You drew No. 3, and chose the wide open bracket, slot G. What was the reason
No particular reason but since the First fight and Second fight was already taken, I decided to choose the Fourth fight. I was surprised by this drawing system, but it’s probably the difference in culture. I think Vadim was looking for a tough fight.
—What are your impressions about Vadim Nemkov
I have never seen his fights, so I do not have an opinion. So I will tell you what I think after the fight. Since he doesn’t speak English, I was not able to talk to him.
—What kind of training are you doing
I was training hard for NYE, but I injured myself 2 days ago. I will be able to rest and heal up during my visit to Japan right now, so the timing was perfect. Once I get back, I will start training again and get ready for my opponent.
—Tell us about KSW
KSW is one of the biggest MMA organizations in Europe where the top fighters compete. It is broadcasted all over Europe and other countries, and continuing to grow. I believe it will be a great competition for the UFC in Europe.
—What are your impressions on Japanese MMA
I believe that all martial arts originate from Japan. So I am very happy to be able to compete in Japan.
— What are your thoughts about fighting in RIZIN
It is a great opportunity and you have nothing but to gain when you fight an opponent coming from a great camp. It is very motivational to compete a high level opponent and you get to show your skills as well. I am excited and honored to be able to fight such an opponent. I am determined to show my best skills on NYE.
