—On the eve of the fight, how is your mental state going into the fight?
There isn’t really anything I can pinpoint and say “this”. (Even Sakuraba?) If you are able to say that every time, you should be able to put on a special fight. So there really isn’t anything I can say about this.

—What kind of fight do you envision the fight will be?
What kind of fight? It might turn into something not very special at all? “What the hell are you guys doing? What kind of fight is this?” might be the reaction of people. It might be a “Instead of you guys being paid well for this, you should share it with the fighters lower than you” kind of fight?

—What can we expect will go on during the fight?
Things that will happen in the fight? I have no idea? I have no idea what kind of secret plan my opponent has, and that scares me. It’s not just that either. It’s the seriousness I felt for this fight. I certainly feel it and that will never change.

—And can you tell us about your weight?
Well, I’m happy with 70kg’s, so this isn’t really the problem and I know that. At the weigh in tomorrow, I wonder to myself if my opponent will come in at the same weight as me? I’m not sure he cares too much about weight. Even if he doesn’t, I have a job to do and I’m ready for this. I realize that this is a massive Japanese MMA event and I am ready to face this head on. So no, I don’t have any problems or anything to say about weight.

—And how was your training camp in Singapore?
I think it went really well. The training camp was really tough, brutal actually. It got me ready for the fight and I’ll take those memories of camp into the fight and know the fight will be a good one. I think mentally, I’m pretty good.
